well apparently it does take a while for this thing to initialize with the tivo. After calling TW I had to redo my installation because I didn't unplug the power cord on the tivo. Anyways...this time I unplug the power to all my equipment, installed the adapter...turned everything on...I got the blinking green light on the adapter for about a minute...tivo booted up...detected the adapter...it sent me to the tuning adapter menu...I clicked on "test channels cablecard 1", got the message it was acquiring channels....got my SDV channels...I did the same for cablecard 2...(I have the S3 HD with two M cards)....and presto...got my SDV channels on cablecard 2...so everything is working...by the way...HighBridge Road has a Tivo S3 HD for their testing in the tech dept....enjoy....it works...about time!

I'm pissed TWC just started giving these things out without any notification. WTF TWC? I'm jealous I didn't think of going over there tonight. I've been there twice in the last two weeks and they wouldn't let me take one home.

so you didn't need a letter or anything? You just walked in and asked for a tuning adapter?

they are sending letters to those whom enrolled online for the adapter to come and pick them up....
I stopped by every day after work to keep them knowing there is a need for this adapter...I just happen to stop by today and presto...got one...I did have to show my email confirming I ordered online...

I'm guess I'm just going to drive over there tomorrow, letter or not. We should all meet at a given time so we can bully them as a group.

'We should all meet at a given time so we can bully them as a group. ' That is a mature way to handle yourself peekb. As you impatiently rush over there and argue then cry about not getting yours you will see me in line next to you with my letter in hand. Just wait for letter, my god..... Now if I can only get the manufacturers of my other Cablecard devices to give any support for updating the software to support one of these tuning things. That will make my day. SONY, Panasonic? ya right. Not after their losses last year. I paid them for my equipment and they dont give 2 nutss about supporting me any longer. Thats one advantage I can give to this Tivo. Oh yea, and the mthly $$ I get chgd/..

I'm guess I'm just going to drive over there tomorrow, letter or not. We should all meet at a given time so we can bully them as a group. I'm going to head over there on my way into work tomorrow. I've now received two calls from TW to tell be about the fabled Tuning Adapter. Letters? I don't need no steenkin' letter.

Got my tuning adapter from the Rotterdam office today (apparently they only have them at the Rotterdam (1021 Highbridge) and Clifton Park payment centers) You had to have the letter I signed up for here: www.timewarnercable.com/albany/Products/Cable/sdv/default.html but I got it home and it works great in my TiVo (they're only avail for the TiVo later models). I finally get all the channels my cablebox tv does!! It's about time! Awesome!

Awesome! do you mean you just printed off the confirmation email TWC sends when you sign up for an adapter, or you brought in the actual mythical letter we've been hearing about that goes out in the mail that alerts you that your tuning adapter can be picked up?
