Have you noticed your Tivo HD or S3 seem to respond much slower to commands from your remote after adding the TA?
My S3 seems to be much less responsive with the TA attached.
The first time it happened, I re-booted the S3 using the buttons on the front of the S3 and that seemed to help, but now it is slow most of the time even after a re-boot.
In case it matters, I have an external 1TB drive attached to my S3.

I got my TA delivered. Everything went fine with the hookup except I only get SD channels on cablecard 2. Thw TW guy just left and he said he thinks I need one of the cablecards to be multi-stream. He had the backend guys send out info to cablecard 1 and said if it doesn't work in 24 hours to call back. Does anyone know anything about single-stream vs, multi-stream cablecards? I have a Tivo series 3 HD. Has anybody received a TA letter in the past week or so? I was just told by a CSR (John) that there are no TAs in stock and no ETA on when the new shipment may arrive. I signed up for one on 1/15 and no letter yet. Just trying to gauge if anyone else, who signed up when I did, has received their adapter. --gr0v3r

They had at least 8 on the self behind the counter at that time.

Both of my TA's stopped working yesterday. I only checked the HD channels.
We had a cable service interruption yesterday afternoon where we lost service for a few hours. I don't have time to try rebooting right now. Will try tonight.

I was having the connectivity issues with the adapter and my tivo too. Called today to see if TW was aware and they said they've been getting complaints about it and found an issue and are sending out updates to all the tuning adapters on Monday morning to address the connectivity issues. We'll see how much it fixes. Hopefully the update will solve the tivo losing the sdv channels issue. I keep having to reboot mine to fix it and it gets annoying.

Well, here's a new one:
I cannot get TNTHD (1827) if I have the tuning adapter connected. If I disconnect it, then I can get the channel.
Even when I re-connect it, the minute it finishes it's blinking, it cuts off access to TNTHD.

I can tune everyone of those channels with my Tivo S3 & TA except the premiums (I don't have a premium subscription other than the Encore tier, HDNet, Sports and Spanish channels)
Funny thing thou, on my Tivo Guide, 1852 is MGM and 1861 is Hallmark.

After reading Skaggs's message about losing channels, I decided to take a look at my TiVo. I was having the same problem with accessing any of the SDV channels from my TiVo HD. The Tuning Adapter appears to be normal, just a steady green light. Other channels appear to be OK and I can get the SDV on the cable box.
This is the second time this has happened. The last time it happened, I was able to get the channels back by power cycling the tuning adapter.
I called TWC right after midnight (right after I read Skaggs's message) and the CSR working the late shift was Kevin. He told me that he could not detect the TA from his end. I powered the TA off and waited 30 seconds to plug it in. The TA light just blinked in a steady pattern. After a minute or two, I power cycled it again. This time I got the steady green light. Still no SDV channels, but some progress. The TA was still not showing up on Kevins' side, so he put me on hold to check a few things.
One additional thing that I discovered was that pressing the front power button on the TA is not the same as unplugging it. If you want to reset a TA, you have to Clint Eastwood style and disconnect the power.
After a couple of minutes, my TiVo suddenly discovered that it had a TA connected and I had my SDV channels back. Right after that, Kevin picked up the line again and I asked him to check the TA status from his side. He could now see the TA and was able to determine what happened.
Apparently the return signal from the TA is too hot and the TA is losing it's connection. Kevin scheduled a technician to come out Monday evening to fix that. That should be easy to fix, which is better than some intrinsic design flaw with the tuning adapters.
A few years back, TWC installed a cable amp because the RoadRunner cable modem was not getting a strong enough signal. The signal is probably too hot because of the amp. I haven't had RoadRunner for a few years, they can probably take their amp back or place a signal attenuator on the line going to the TA.
While I have Kevin on the line, I asked about the update being pushed down to the TA's. He confirmed that it's scheduled for Monday night, but it could get pushed back. He couldn't tell me what was being specifically addressed, but he did know that the amount of time it takes to change a channel will be addressed.
I also mentioned the problem that I was having with the Sci-Fi channel and he said that they had been logging a lot of calls about that and it was an open issue for them.

I had tried rebooting the TiVo, but not the TA.
Once I rebooted the TA like Chris mentioned above, I had all my channels back.
BTW, I have a TWC installed signal amplifier in my basement.
I wonder what the firmware update will bring? Increasing the delay when switching channels would be nice.

I also noticed slower reaction to the remote. Does your TA work on both cablecards? I assume it does, since I am still able to record 2 shows at the same time.

I wonder what the firmware update will bring? Increasing the delay when switching channels would be nice. Call up TWC support and mention all of this and ask them to check the status of the TA. Apparently they can tell if the return path signal is too strong. It seems too coincidental that we both had our tuning adapters lose their connection to the mothership at roughly the same time and we both have TWC supplied signal amps.

Here's a photo of the splitter/amplifier TWC installed at my house back in 2006:

I am having TA troubles today.. rebooted my TA and had a steady blinking light, did it again now it blinks 8 times, then stops, and goes 8 more times, etc etc. Called TWC spoke to CSR Chris who was very nice and after he had me check the cables and unplug it a couple times, he scheduled a truck roll. He said my signal is too strong. He said it could be due to removing tvs in my house, and I told him I live in an apt complex and my neighbor below me moved out a couple days ago and he said that could be it. It sucks cause the tech can't come out til Friday, and I have tomorrow off due to the Holiday.. so my tivo is gonna miss most of my shows this week unless I go through and manually add all the SD versions of shows, which will be a major PITA.. might just download this week's shows if I don't watch them live.
