yeah don't buy an hdmi cable at one of the big box stores.. those things are the biggest d**n ripoff ever.. if you order from newegg most of the time you can get a 6 foot cable for 10 bucks and free shipping (not to mention no tax, but don't tell paterson). Newegg also has a warehouse in NJ so if you order by closing today you'll most likely have it in your hands tomorrow, even with the free/cheap shipping.

Apparently, they miscounted the number of people on the mailing list, because they ran out of them less than halfway through the day. yeah I think they will give you as many as you want (the max is probably the number of cable cards you have).. it was funny when I picked mine up, the girl that gave it to me said these were really popular today, and one guy must really like his cause he came in and got 2.. was probably talking about skaggs ;D

If you were there shortly after that time, then it was me.

I agree about monoprice regarding cables.
I almost wonder whether Circuit City made more profit on the cable they sold me when I bought my first HDTV than on the TV.
Anybody have any idea what it means when ther green light starts blinking? It was solid green when I first connected the TA and l was receiving all but two of the HDTV channels. Last night when I got home it was blinking and none of the SDV channels came in.
I tried re-booting the S3 but that didn't seem to make any difference. Should I unplug both the TA and S3 and then re-power both of them in order?
I know that the manual for the TA says contact you cable company when the light is blinking, but it will be over a week before I can waste a couple of hours waiting for TW cable support.

My limited experience has shown that when the light goes from solid to blinking, the TiVo and the TA are no longer in sync. I found that unplugging the USB connection on the back of the TiVo and then reinserting it will cause the blinking light to go solid. (after a few minutes - not instantaneously). Hope this helps.

I called TW and they said they checked my account to make sure everything was correct and to wait up to an hour before it would receive all the channels.
The light changed back to solid green in under a minute, but the SDV channels were still not viewable.
I then restarted the S3 and the SDV channels were viewable again.

I guess mine was lucky. Picked mine up yesterday at Clifton park. The guy even gave me an extra RG6 cable (didn't have to ask for it). Got home, fished the wires around, plugged it in and in about 5 minutes it was up and running.
Only hitch is that I had to re-do my Season Passes (it would be nice if you could edit a season pass on the Tivo to use the HD channel).
Anyone know if/when we'll get getting Bravo HD? I'm addicted to Project Runway and Top Chef.

Something similar just happened to me too. I have a TivoHD. Tonight I am flipping through and all of a sudden HGTVHD and FoodHD and TLCHD no longer come in. Just get a gray screen. TVONEHD was in and then the channel just "froze" and now it's a gray screen. Same thing with animalplanet (I know all these worked the day I got the adapter) The TA adapter light is solid. Coincidentally a TW truck was across the street at my neighbors house. Anyway, unplugged the USB cable and plugged it back in. No difference. Rebooted the TivoHD. no difference. I'd say half the SDV HD channels are gray at this point. I guess I'll have to call tomorrow if they're not working.

I have been having an issue with one of my two tuning adapters. The one in my bedroom loses its connection on a regular basis. I can get the light to stop blinking and connect to the TiVo, showing all the channels I am supossed to receive. However, the next time I go to watch TV in the bedroom, the tuning adapter light is flashing again.
I'll give a call to TWC later this afternoon. I hate thinking about how my conversation is going to go:
ME: I'm having problems with my tuning adapter. TWC CSR: What? ME: My tuning adapter...it can't keep a connection to my TiVo TWC CSR: We don't offer TiVo's, but we do have our own DVRs ME: AAARRRGH!
I should give them the benefit of the doubt, but I know better.

Same here.
The channels I can no longer get are: 1826, 1835, 1836, 1841-1846, 1851-1852, 1859 and 1861
And they WERE working the day I picked up and installed the TA.
I saw something similar on the Tivo forums that this is a firmware issue on the Cisco TA, but I think I have a 1520 and they were talking about a 1320?? Can't remember though. Supposedly TW Austin was going to issue a firmware update in January.

Well, tried the two items and neither one worked.
So I gave up and unplugged the AC Adapter for about 1 minute on the STA and then plugged it back in and waited the 7-10 minutes for it to initialize.
Ironically all my SDV channels are back, EXCEPT the NON-SDV channel I was watching. That took about 10 minutes to retune for some reason.
If the Tivo item is "correct", I hope they fix that soon because otherwise it renders the TA and Tivo useless. What, you have to look in your crystal ball and see when the TA will stop tuning an SDV channel so you can manually fix it? Nice to know if you set your Tivo to record any of the SDV channels only to find out it recorded gray screens because you didn't bother to check it every few minutes.
