Finally, has anyone gotten their cable out to work yet? I have my box hooked up to my audio video system and would like to be able to watch standard def shows like the news without having to turn on the stereo. Thanks. You have to make the box output to 480i to do that. The instruction manual should tell you how to do that. Don't have a link handy at the moment.

I just posted a message in the 8000HD "defective" thread about the new software update. However, my source at TWC said the DVI port was still not active. I'm not at home, so I can't hook my TV up to the DVI port to see if it works. My DVI port worked this morning on my 8000HD. I was pleasantly surprised.

Any new news on when TWC will activate the DVI port on the 8000HD? I have the cable all set, ready to go. Just waiting for the switch to be hit by TWC?

Does anyone else notice that the stretched picture on their 8000HD cuts off the right side of the picture? Mine cuts off a sliver of the picture on the right when zoomed or on hd channels in normal mode. For example on Discovery HD, part of the D in HD is cut off in the lower right corner? The tech came and said he thought is was the cable box doing it, because it doesn't happen with my dvd player. BTW, I have a toshiba 57" wide HD ready. I've noticed that the normal window-boxed picture cuts off a portion of the top and bottom of the screen. It doesn't show the full picture. I noticed this when watching ESPN. The top and bottom of the screen are cut off. Irritating.

No, you should call TWC. Are you saying the recordings get deleted or the recording schedule? Either way, it should not happen. It's weird, and since the box has rebooted, I haven't checked it since. But this was what's happening: The box would only record HDTV programming. Standard Definition Programming wasn't recording (neither the 1 hour buffer nor any SD Channel Recordings). I'll have to check it when I get home today.

I don't know if this is a feature or not on my 8000HD, but my standard definition recordings ALWAYS get deleted. I can't even rewind standard definition porgramming. But HD programming, no problem. Is this HOW it's supposed to function?

I would definitely be interested in a calibration, but $350 is a little out of my range. If it was $200, I'd say maybe. Don't know how the fiancee would take $350.00... But I definitely need it for the TV.

OK, I'm sick of tweaking my HDTV myself, so I want some professional help. Where can I find a guy to tune my Sony 34" KV-34XBR910 and how much will it run me, generally?

I own DVE, and I find it OK for what I need. It can be non-user-0frfiendly at time,s but it has the basic calibration tools that you need. I hear Avia is more involved, though.

Now the real shock one year will be when Time Warner DOESN'T increase their rates the next year... Ugh....
And I'm kind of annoyed Empire Sports is nixed. I used to get some UD Flyer games on there... But with hockey out, I guess I understand. Why not replace it with MSG Metro or something, or is Cablevision not letting that happen?

I was watching the Yanks/Sawks game last night, and my transmission kept getting garbled and junky. I noticed this problem on the Entire Digital Tier of programs, not just the HD Tier. I switched over to Channel 8, and the transmission of the game was fine.
Anyone else have this problem last night? A shame that I couldn't watch the game last night in HD without transmission issues.

Any plans for WEWB multicasting or an update on WEWB-TWC negotiations? You'd think it would be an easy negotiation because of the Time Warner connection between the two channels. Although my girlfriend won't admit it, she'd love to see the Gilmore Girls in Hi-Def...
