Has anyone contacted TWC Albany & ask when ESPN HD will be added? Any responses? I sent emails out to my TWC contacts and have not received any replies. Leads me to start thinking they will charge us for it and are thinking of a way to market it to us. If they're reading, I have a suggestion: It's ESPN-HD. I mean, c'mon! Charge me, don't charge me, just get it on there. It's SOOOO worth it. After this, TWC can then get CBS, Bravo, Starz, etc in Hi Def. Would make people like me happy.

I am going to GUESS that this will be on Channel 1824.
Pontification: If they charge for it, will it be a la carte, lumped with HDnet/HDnet Movies or will TNT-HD, Discovery HD Theater, INHD & INHD2 stop being included in the digital tier, in order to create a more compelling HD tier? Time will tell.
BTW, is there anyone out there with all HD channels on TWC? What's the monthly bill come to on that? (Including FCC fees, taxes, remote, STBs,etc.) I guess you could save $5 if you have a cable-card ready HDTV monitor.

My cable bill is $120, which includes Road Runner and Cable w/ 2 DVR boxes.

I'm gonna guess that the digital tier will be INHD I and II, HD Net and HD Net Movies and ESPN HD and I'm also gonna guess the cost at $6.95 per month (that's what they are charging in some other markets...)
BTW I have a nice little deal with TWC...i used to own Direct TV and TWC "bribed" me a few years ago during one of thier "come back from the dish" campaigns...I have an HD hookup with an HD DVR, 2 other digital cable boxes and I also get Earthlink Broadband internet via TWC...all for $100 per month...this is a sweet deal...in addition to giving me a discount they also paid me $100 for my D tv dish and receiver.

If that's the case, it will be disappointing to lose two HD channels, while the bill stays the same.

Skaggs..
TWC is trying to get this channel on ASAP, no word on date, but its not far. Working out the kinks and then it will be added, I am also assuming 1824. The deal was finalized Friday afternoon just before the end of the business day, so many TWC Divisions are just being notified the TWC has an agreement. Those that got their lucky hands on the info, worked hard and got the channel up and running over the weekend. All is well in the HD world as far as ESPN and TWC are concerned, no info on ESPN 2 HD in January, but I assuming thats part of the deal, why wouldn't it be?

If that's the case, it will be disappointing to lose two HD channels, while the bill stays the same. You are talking like you have TWC. Didn't you just get VOOM? As much as I would hate to do it, I'd pay for ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD. I did not pay the extra money for HDNet, but I have to have college basketball in HD.

I expect ESPN to be a TWC premium HD channel here...that may be what's holding carriage up here while the TWC execs figure out how to market and sell it along with other HD stuff that just got much more valuable to them. Leads me to start thinking they will charge us for it and are thinking of a way to market it to us. I have been notified by a very good source that the info hypothesized in the above two posts is indeed correct.

Does the $120 include HBO HD, Showtime HD, and the two HDNets? I was wondering that too. I have 1 DVR, HBO-HD, SHO-HD, and the two HDnet's plus RR and my bill is $121. When we do get ESPN-HD I think I'm going to drop the Showtime package.

You caught me SONY007! Just Kidding... I have TWC in my Editing Suite at work. We have the HD box and Digital service, that's it. No HBO, SHO, HDnet/HDnet Movies. There's really only 3 stations I leave our plasma on when we are not displaying an edit... DISC-HD, INHD or INHD2, because the other included HD channels are not normally showing HD during the work day (and WMHT-HD looks like crap via TWC on a Broadcast level Plasma HDTV). So from that perspective, it's like going from 3 staions to 1.
At home, however, I have VOOM/OTA and I am very happy... I have had ESPN-HD all along (back on thread topic). It would be nice to get sportcenter in HD at work, but I don't think we can justify the proposed $6.95/mo.
My bill from VOOM is $112 for EVERYTHING. That's 42 HD channels. There's no PVR yet, so I don't what full service will cost once that's out there. I guess if I only wanted ESPN-HD and whatever else was included, VOOM would only cost a new subscriber $64/mo. If a new sub only wants ESPN-HD from TWC, what will the bill come to? To be fair we should find out what ESPN-HD only costs on D* and E*. I would think those would be the least expensive.

Does the $120 include HBO HD, Showtime HD, and the two HDNets? Yes it does. All included. I don't know if ESPN-HD would be a la carte in my world, or because I have HDNet I'll get it...
