How come than us, the consumers are mad with WRGB. I don't heare anybody that couldn't receive the Superbowl complain about TWC. The only ones I hear that take WRGB's side are the ones that must be employed by them. What if TWC stopped carrying the analog broadcast of WRGB! Than what? Would everyone run out and buy antenna's just to see WRGB? I think not. Everywhere you look HD is being adverstised either by dish companies or cable systems.
Satellite companies charge for HD content, more than TWC charges me. Dish Network wants $9.99 & DirecTV wants $10.99.
It is too bad we the consumers get screwed. But I don't mine, TWC gives me plenty of HD right now. Who needs WRGB.
;D

Thanks for heads up! Maybe WRGB isn't far behind, hopefully in time for March Madness!

I was wondering this too. My guess would be that they will have HD for us TWC subcribers in time for pre-season football in August. We are getting a 720p upconvert now.

It is there but it says sign off in the guide and there is color bars just like the TWC sampler channel 1801. When does the NBA Western Conference begin in HD?

always leaving the SA 8300HD DVR powered up. I remember reading that it didn't make a difference turning off because the hard drive is always running. Maybe Skaggs could shed some light on that. I've been leaving mine on since they first came to Schenectady TWC. I'm asking this beacuse I was programming some more macros in my universal remote.

I'm looking into buying a JVC D-VHS deck and I wanted to know if the firewire ports are activated on the 8300HD DVR box from TWC. Thanks

I'm going to check mine again today. I'll have to read your note on the 06' Super Bowl. I wonder why now this problem is occuring.
I just went to ESPN-HD and I have 5.1 audio as of now.

I have an 8300 and noticed tonight when I turned on my receiver I was not getting 5.1 audio while watch some of Dante's Peak on Universal HD. I re-booted the box and sure enough the 5.1 audio was restored. This happened to me last Monday night while I tuned in to watch Prison Break. This time I went into the menu to see if the digital out was set to Dolby Digital. It was and when I switched out of the menu the 5.1 audio kicked in. Has anyone expirienced this before. I'm probably going to bring back the box and get another one. I have had this 8300 since thay came to the Highbridge office.

I'm still concerned with picture cropping. Is picture cropping still occuring in HD? On ESPN the side boxes that say HD are still cut off. I don't know what causes this. My display has its overscan set to 3% on all sides. I think the cropping is ESPN. I have no other cropping problems when I'm viewing HD.

Skaggs,
If you need a HDMI to DVI cable might I suggest you try Towne TV on Carmen Rd. They carry Monster, Audioquest and IXOS cables. I've been dealing with the guys there for 10yrs.
