I'm assuming it's not just me, but I am getting all those sept 2 channels for free. I was flipping channels the other night and porn was on one of those MAX HD channels. I just got a new cable box too right before it happened, so I was hoping it's like the holy grail of cable boxes, but I doubt it

This has actually happened to me before in the past when I got a new cable box. My guess is the person who perviously had your box had those premium channels, and time warner just assigned the box to your account, and didnt turn off any services. Either that, or someone in your home ordered it without your knowing.

UPDATE: I gave time warner a call, told them how there PDF document list National Geographic Wild HD, MTV HD, Comedy Central HD, Nickelodeon HD, Spike HD to be added today (9/7/10) and said all of those channels will be added tomorrow (9/8/10) so sounds good to me.

It was like that episode of friends where chandler and joey were getting free porn and they didn't want to turn off the tv in case it doesn't come back. I don't really care so much about the porn, but it is nice to have some commercial free movie channels to fall asleep to at night.

Nothing here.... we haven't even gotten an anouncement, but we never do anyway. HD Channels just appear with no fanfare. And the thing is, once they add these here, we basically have a better HD lineup than satellite as far as I'm concerned. I never understood why TWC doesn't push the HD issue more, but wastes countless ads on cancelation fees and other nonsense!
Historically, since you got them, we shouldn't be far behind.

Also, still no love for the TiVo HD & Tuning Adapter.

Wonder how long it'll take for Guide data to show up? I wanted to reschedule some of my MTV/Comedy series recordings for tonight, but can't do much without Guide data yet. Hopefully by tomorrow.

probably wouldn't hurt to call tivo and notify them about it. I remember I had to do that when mlbhd came out because I was sick of waiting for it after it had already been out for days

I remember I had to do that when mlbhd came out because I was sick of waiting for it after it had already been out for days I had an online chat session with TWC customer service yesterday concerning the lack new HD channels on a TiVo w/cable card & tuning adapter. He said they were aware of the issue and were working on it. Thinking I was getting the "run-around", I asked if he was located in the Albany area and he replied he was in India. He also said TWC would adjust my account bill to compensate for my "inconvenience", but would not tell me how much I would be refunded. That, apparently, is up to the billing department.

When a cable box is turned in to TWC, it goes through some diagnostics. While performing these diagnostics, the technician will place the box into "test mode", which authorizes all channels up until a certain date.
TWC employees have cable boxes in their homes that are placed in "test mode" at all times.

Received an email from TWCableHelp concerning the lack of new HD channels on a TiVo with cable card & tuning adapter, stating, "...still waiting for information from our contacts in the local office. We will update you accordingly."
