From the latest Legal Notification. Take the dates with a grain of salt since TWC doesn't usually make the dates they say: To be deleted on/around 8/3:Starz West-HD To be deleted on/around 8/23:Showtime West-HD HBO West-HD Cinemax West-HD To be added on/around 8/23:HBO Signature-HD HBO Family-HD HBO Comedy-HD HBO Zone-HD Action Max-HD Thriller Max-HD More Max-HD Outer Max-HD Five Star Max-HD @max-HD W Max-HD TMC Xtra-HD To be added on/around 9/7:Nat Geo Wild-HD MTV-HD Comedy Cental-HD Nickelodon-HD Spike TV-HD History Channel International-HD CMT-HD Hallmark-HD VH1-HD Cooking Channel-HD TWC Sports-HD They're also "in discussions" to carry Game-HD2. Again, take all this with a grain of salt, but it's something. Here's the link: www.timewarnercable.com/MediaLibrary/4/152/Content%20Management/Documents/legal_1/notice_albany.pdf

Does anyone have any insight as to why Starz, Showtime, HBO and Cinemax West are being terminated? Is it because there is not enough subscribers to warrant keeping them?
Looks optimistic that Time Warner is adding the Viacom channels...but is there any news on the basic channels that the Albany area continues to lack?
Specifically:
truTV HD Planet Green HD Investigation Discovery HD WGN America HD
It would also be nice that Fox Soccer Channel HD be added.
NFL Network HD would be great also but I would consider that to be a pipedream since Time Warner and NFL are nowhere near an agreement.

I would guess that the "west" channels are being eliminated because they only repeat the broadcasts of the "east" versions of the same. The east/west versions are basically mirror images of each other in programming.

TWC Sports HD This is especially intersting to me. I had heard that TWC Syracuse was producing the Syracuse University sports in HD. This provides a method to deliver it to the other TWC divisions. Hopefully, SU Basketball in HD this fall/winter! :-) Here's a related post I made last year.

As of last night, Starz West HD was still there for me. Not sure if they're going to delete it with everything else or what.

Does anyone have any more info from Time Warner about the potential channel changes next Monday? Or the Viacom channels in a few weeks?

Well, we're at 8/23, the day a lot of the channel additions were supposed to happen. My guess is this isn't going to end up happening anytime soon...

Looks like we got all the new movie channels! They're spread out pretty weird now, which the originals starting at 1880 and the new additions around the 1780s. Hopefully the shuffle things around to keep all the premium movie channels together. Looking forward to the Viacoms next week
