Is anyone else upset that we won't be able to watch our Yankees in HD on TWC this year? DirecTV has deals with both ESPN2 HD and YES HD. The opening night Sox vs. Yankees game is on ESPN2 HD. The game Sunday is on YES HD. I sent Albany TWC VP Peter Taubkin an email stating my desire for ESPN2 HD and YES HD. Have you?

Channel 1867 now displays the YES logo and is labeled YESHD. I see from another topic here that it starts tomorrow (April 1) at no additional cost!

It's on the TWC website: YES announces Yankee games in HD The YES Network introduces high-definition telecasts of New York Yankee games this year, beginning with Sunday's season opener against the Boston Red Sox. YES will telecast 64 home games and six road games in HD. Time Warner Cable Albany will carry these games on channel 1867. April is the busiest month with 14 HD games available, including the first nine. Channel 1867 telecasts in HD only live baseball games and not other YES programming. YES, on cable channel 67, will continue to serve its non-HD customers all season. The Yankees are also on WXXA (cable channel 8) 21 times this season, on the FOX Saturday afternoon game nine times and on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball three times.

I called Albany TWC and spoke to Sandy.
I asked if YES HD would be included in the HD Tier or just part of the digital cable package. She said she didn't know and put me on hold while she spoke to her manager.
After a minute or so, she came back on the line and said that her manager didn't know, so they are calling someone to find out. I was placed on hold again.
After a minute or so, she came back on the line (again) and said, "We checked and they said it will be part of the HD Tier." I asked her who "they" are and she said she didn't know. She said they didn't get any information besides the addition of YES HD and the lineup changes.

TW seems to keep things tight lipped when it comes to adding channels...not even the rep's knew about YES HD...but Skaggs got the goods on it...now if they would just work their magic and add Universal HD....
I don't think it's an April fools joke...since TW already made the channel lineup changes...and well, we all know...Uncle Sam is watching (FCC)!

Albany TWC has modified their HD Tier webpage so that it now shows YES HD as part of the HD Tier.

Is anyone else still getting the multi-colored striped page with the logo and channel name? Will we only have feed during games?

As of now YES-HD will only broadcast live games. I would think it will also include the pre-game as well. We'll see tonight! Can't wait to see The Big Unit in pinstripes. He's gonna look 10 feet tall!
;D
