My unit (as well the TVGOS on my SONY Bravia TV) stopped being able to receive TVGOS data via TWC many months ago. Nothing has gotten to work again. Switching to OTA, the Guide populates in less than 24hrs.
At the time, no one else on this forum was experiencing problems. For me to have two devices with the problem led me to believe it was related to the TWC sub-sytem that I am physically located on.
I've since sold the DVR and stopped tuning TV via TWC.

"Someone" disconnected the antenna from the Sony DVR and hooked it up to the audio receiver so "someone" could listen to the Yankee game over the radio via the outdoor speakers mounted to the rear of the house.
When "someone" attempted to re-attach the antenna to the Sony DVR, they attached it to the "cable in" jack instead of the "antenna in" jack.
I reattached to the antenna to the correct jack, rescanned, and I am back in business.

My HDD500 stopped receiving guide data recently and when I check it shows a blank for the guide data channel. What Channel (I thought it was 6) does the unit get guide data from in this area? Does anyone know if Time Warner stopped passing the data?
Thanks.

Were you getting your guide from TW channel 6 analog or from the digital feed? What I've read about the Sony DVRs said they could do either, although they defaulted to analog and might require an update for digital. It's been discussed in AVSForum threads on the Sony DVRs and TVGOS.
When I dropped TW, well after the analog broadcast shutdown, TW's analog feed of channel 6 had 8 lines of TVGOS data on it. I just checked WRGB's digital broadcast and can confirm that they are transmitting data for both the digital version (for receivers that can handle it) and the analog-in-digital version that certain digital converters (DTVPal and one Artec model) can add to their analog outputs.
You might get better information by asking on WRGB's tech forum. Their CE will know what they're feeding to TW and probably what TW is doing with it.

FYI...I have my Sony DHG-500 hooked up OTA only and have at least a week's worth of guide data.

I'm going to revive this thread because there is a message on my Sony DVR's guide screen saying that guide data will stop in early 2013.
Anyone know of a fix or work-around?
