Since Customer Loyalty Discount has been mentioned in other threads here, I decided to call TWC and ask them what it is. I spoke to Amber this morning at TWC and asked the question, " What is a Customer Loyalty Discount?" Amber told me that it is something they offer to satellite subscribers to entice them to sign up for TWC. I asked, "So, if you are a current TWC subsciber, you don't get a discount?" Amber replied, "Yes, you can get a package discount and save up to $90." I said, "How do I save through a package discount?" Amber said, "With one of the DigiPic packages." I said, "So, if I am a DirecTV subscriber and call up TWC to say that I am thinking about signing up for cable, why can't I get a DigiPic package? She said, "You would be offered either the WinBack or DigiPic package, but not both." I said, "How much is the WinBack savings?" Amber said, "$20 to $30 a month, but you could save up to $90 per month with the DigiPic package."
Seems like smoke & mirrors to me. If you are getting a Customer Loyalty Discount and a DigiPic package, please post your info in this thread.

In my case, I had satellite 3 years ago and switched to TW. A year after I switched, the sent me a letter stating my promotion was ending (they did NOT have digipic back then), but that as a loyal customer they'd "only" increase my monthly bill by $5. Of course a few months later, TW had their "regular" price increase as well.
A year after that I got another letter stating that my promo plan was ending and that as a loyal customer I'd "only" have a $5 increase.
then all hell went loose last year. Even though I got ANOTHER letter stating "only" a $5 increase, they jacked my bill up $25. Seems that by adding their HD DVR unit, it "messed up" my billing. So I had to fight over that one (that was last October) and now I'm at an increase of $10/month (instead of the "average" of like 4-5/month).
(I was paying $98/month for RR, basic, digital, digital cable box, HD DVR box, HBO, and SHO). I thought that was high enough, but from what others tell me, they're paying like $140/month for that same package.

As a former dish network customer, according to TW my loyalty discount will NEVER expire. I get the following discounts:
Loyalty discount: $16.95 2nd Outlet discount: $7.95
For a total monthly credit of $24.90
I have received this discount now for 2 years. I also get Road Runner for $29.99 a month but that was a separate promotion when I was lured away from verizon DSL.

Hey, they also offered me the Road Runner discount at the same price but it eventually got folded into the "customer Loyayty discount". My discount is now $20 (from $30) and I am paying the full $44.95 for Road Runner. The original deal was half price of what I was paying for DISH. Then another deal offering Road Runner for like 30 bucks a month. Their billing system is so confusing I don't know what I'm paying for now!!!

Digipic/Loyalty discount/All n One TW website/billing too confusing... TW advertises the Digipic 4000 package w/Road Runner for $124.95. Does this include the HD-DVR service or is that extra? Does this include premiums on demand or is that $6.95? If I add a second non HD digital box does all the programming I get with the package (first box) carry over (HBO, sports subscriptions)? It seems that a loyalty discount wouldn't apply if I signed up for this package and that it all depends on who you get taking your order as to what, if any, discount you may get.. When I add it all up.......124.95 + 6.95 (POD) + 3.99 (HD tier) + 7.95 (2nd digital receiver) + 4.95 (DVR service) + 12 (tax) =$$160.79 then take away RR at 44.95 month and your left with a pretty hefty cable bill! how about a $40 loyalty discount! any thoughts? Hurnik - this sounds a lot like your plan, are you still paying $98

Extra, Extra, Extra.....sounds about right......I guess I'll stay where I am....If they really want people to switch back to cable they might want to put together a better plan to get them back. By the looks of this message board, they don't take care of the customers they already have.

I've had the CLD for 4 years now since I dumped Directv....I think its a pretty good deal....I have and HD-DVR, 2 other digital boxes, remotes, HD tier, sports tier,14 channel HBO and Earthlink broadband all for just $100 a month....plus...when I dumped D-TV TWC gave me a check for $100 for the dish and the receiver...not one to gloat (or do a TWC ad...) but...I 'd never go back to satellite...just to many pains in the butt to deal with (and unless you buy the soon to be dead "VOOM") not nearly enough HD content!!!
So is TWC a corporate demon--yea probably...most large corporations are pretty weak on the social responsibility and "we care about our customers" philosophy....but...it still beats the satellite in my book "ninety five ways to Sunday" as they say in the old country!
This is of course my opinion and is based solely on my own experiences...your opinions and experiences may differ from mine...its a great country!!!!

Budgetguy, just out of curiosity, what kinds of pains did you have to deal with when you had D-TV? Just wondering because I have had nothing but great service and support with them. And how did you get that deal with TWC? Did they offer that to you? By the looks of other posts, it seems they can make any kind of deal they want.

Well I must admit I was an "early adaptor" with Directv...sadly, I encountered lots of problems with the smart card in the receiver...they sent me 5 cards over the life of the thing...4 of the 5 times they shipped them to the wrong address (despite being told repeatedly by me what the correct address was...) plus...the usual satellite problems of rain fade, snow fade and at that time, no local channels! Finally, the DTV CSRs at that time were generally clueless. I originally left TWC because I felt thier CSR's and thier field folks were pretty bad (and in fact rude)...I know others may differ but my experience since coming back to TWC has been 1000% better than before!!! I beleive that the cable, phone and broadband businesses are continuing to evolve to a solitary platform, as this evolution takes place consumer service and price will differentiate the market and determine the winners and losers...in the long run that should be good for us consumers, as far as satellite TV goes...I think its ultimately a niche product that will be useful for those folks that don't have ready access to a cable wire...however, as that technological platform between cable, broadband and phone service narrows I think satellite may be in trouble, 10 -15 yrs down the road. (I do have Sirius Satellite Radio, if that counts for anything!!!!) My brother has Directv because TWC hasn't wired his rural neighborhood and he has no complaints..however he tells me he won't consider HD until/unless Directv dramatically increases its HD content.
Finally, TWC solicited me directly with the discount offer and the "bounty" for the DTV equipment to get me to come back.
Hope this is helpful.

ESPECIALLY since they sent me a letter in october teling me it was a $5/month increase.

Thanks B-Guy. Now that I have road runner I am looking for ways to get a better deal with all the new packages TW has and possibly get the CLD discount. I have had nothing but great experiences with D-TV over the past couple years so I guess just like anything, you can't always be lucky. I know back in college I had TW basic for 20 bucks a month (7 channels, 6 were network) and channel 13 wouldn't come in, they came three times and finally said it coudn't be fixed, I lived too close to an antenna or something. I really wish TW would be a little more direct with their prices. Like I said earlier, when you add it all up it isn't even close to what they advertise (TW must sell cars too). I would like more HD with D-TV but I know it will come, they're adding local HD channels over the next two years so that will help their cause dramatically. I must say, the one thing I really would like with TW isn't the additional channels, its the HD recorder box, the D-TV one is 1K right now. I don't see satellite really becoming a niche product. I think satellite will expand even more, they already offer high speed internet (weak at the moment) and I wouldn't be surprised if phone pops up soon all on one dish. Forget about being rural and not getting cable, I live in the middle of Albany and DSL is not yet hooked up where I live!! Plus with satellite, no taxes, or line fees, or whatever additional clever fee they come up with. All said and done, they are all the same, out to make a profit. I could care less what service I have, I just want to get the most bang for my buck.

I decided to call TWC and find out what kind of 'winback' deal they had and I was offered the Digipick 4000 + HDdvr+extra digital box+HD tier + Road Runner + $10 installation for 115/month. I was told that the deal never ended... I did ask if they would send me a check for my equipment and was told no, the deal I was already gettting was pretty substantial. There wasn't any extra saved to add the phone, still $40, so might as well just go with Vonage at 15. Still seems like a pretty good deal. I do love D-TV but HD is HD and 40 bucks a month saved is 40 bucks a month saved (well, already spent by wife but whatetver)!!
