You may have noticed that I started placing advertisements on the home page. I'm using Google AdSense. Here's a link for more information.
I don't control the ads that display there. Google searches the text on the page and displays advertisements that match the text on the page.
Google AdSense is the same service used by ProBoards, which is the company that provides the software that drives this forum. The ads on this page above are placed by Google on behalf of ProBoards.
The way the ads generate revenue is when users click on the links. If you click on any of the links at the top of this page, ProBoards gets an extremely small payment from Google. If you click on the links on the AlbanyHDTV homepage, I will get an extremely small payment from Google. Since I haven't received any payments from Google yet, I don't even know how much they are.
While the costs associated with running this site are relatively small (under $100 per year), they are still coming out of my pocket. Thanks to all of you who have donated a couple of bucks.
I enjoy providing this site and interacting with all of the HDTV enthusiasts in the Capital Region. Hey, I learn a lot from all of you. I would prefer not to place advertisements, but I thought the Google Ads were the least obtrusive of those I looked at. (I hate those pop-up ads)
