I am using the zenith silver sensor to receive my over the air signals it seems to work great but I cannot get channel 13 for the life of me . pbs upn and wrgb come in crystal clear . I am about 30 miles from the broadcast tower here in ballston spa. I was thinking that it was because this antenna is a uhf model and I think channel 13 is broadcasting digitally on vhf. I tried a pair of rabbit ears and an amplified model but the unamplified silver sensor worked scads better . anybody having any luck with any of the more expensive amplified antennas?

I have the Channel Master 3016 VHF/UHF/FM antenna mounted in my attic. Since all of the locals will be broadcasting off the same tower, there is no need for a rotator. I aimed it once using the info at www.antennaweb.org. Antennaweb is where you should go and input your street address. It will suggest the best type of antenna for your location. For example, it recommended a medium directional (MD) antenna for me. It is not amplified. However, I only live 8 miles from the tower. When shopping for an antenna, just look at the type it is....I looked for the medium directional. Stark Electronics was temporarily out of the 3016, so I ordered from www.SolidSignal.com. It was $35 + $9 shipping. The antenna was shipped UPS and arrived 3 days after I ordered it.

Mike here in Shaftsbury VT. HDTV viewer since Feb 28, 2004
Using a Zenith HDV 420 OTA receiver and a 15 year old Radio Shack VHF/UHF antenna with a third of the elements missing. I get WRGB, WNYT and WMHT.
Going to replace the antenna this weekend with a new deep fringe to maximize the signal. WNYT and WMHT are solid, but I get an occaisional dropout on WRGB.
Glad to see this board up. Found it from the WNYT website.
