Over the past few days, all of the HD channels via my TWC 8000HD have been nearly unwatchable. There has been a lot of digital artifacts (blockiness) and when that happens, the audio cuts out too forcing my audio receiver to constantly switch input modes.
All non-HD channels work fine.
HD material recorded several weeks ago plays back fine. Recorded HD content today exhibits the same digital artifacts/dropouts as the live HD channels.
Has anyone else had recent problems?

Actually, now that I look at some other channels, it seems most of the digital channels (ex: Discovery Wings and HBO2) are doing this too. Hmm, looks like TWC is going to get a phone call...

I just called TW today. I too have the 8000HD I have not noticed too many problems with live HD watching. However, recorded HD programing has played back with similar problems that you describe.I just finished watching Black Rain(HBO) which I believe was recorded last weekend and I felt like I was watching a program taped on a poor quality VCR tape. They were willing to come out tomorrow, however, the earliest I can see them is Friday morning.

I had a problem with Fox not having any audio on Sunday night, it came back right before the Simpsons (thankfully). A friend reported the same issue...

I had the same problems with some of my recent recordings on my 8300 . I also had the loss of audio on fox . Some of the stations have been unbearable in their audio drop outs and video glitches. I had one recording of the chris Isaak xmas special that was so corrupted that my box rebooted causing my tv to lose its hd synch and making my tv's settings revert to factory mode and I had to go back into the menu and return all he values to their calibrated settings. I have noticed that you can screw up the boxes pretty easy by just looking to far into the menu to see what's coming on in the future. I have made my box crash numerous times just browsing through the menu. Maybe they will get some updates in the future that address this issue. I can tell you this VOOM is starting to look VERY good to me . Time Warner really needs to get more channels in hd ALOT more..

I set up an appointment with TWC this Friday. We'll see what he/she finds.

I witnessed the audio & video "hic-cups" yesterday while my daughter was watching Clifford is SD on Noggin. I watched NYPD Blue later last night and did not notice any "hic-cups".
