I'm looking to purchase a DVD for calibration of my 57" HDTV.
Which one is better?
Pro's & Cons?

I own DVE, and I find it OK for what I need. It can be non-user-0frfiendly at time,s but it has the basic calibration tools that you need. I hear Avia is more involved, though.

I second Avia. It is the best one if your just starting out because it explains everything in great detail. I own Avia, Video Essentials and the new Digital Video Essentials.

i have Digital Video Essentials. It's a headache to get through, but when you figure it out it's not bad. I'm happy with it, and it has definitely improved the look of my set. Haven't tried Avia, though.

As far as the tweak dvds go AVIA is the most user friendly out of them all . I haven't pulled out any of my tweaker dvds lately since I have had my set professionally calibrated . Like my friend Hank I have allof them . I will say this though calibration makes the differance between just an ok picture and one that is phenomenal . Even my wife noticed the amazing differance. If professional calibration is not an option you cant go wrong with AVIA. All of the necessary test patterns are there and they walk you through it in a very clear and concise way . Even the navigation of the disc is easier than with either Video essentials or DVE.
