I have noticed over the past month there has been a lot of Verizon trucks deployed around Northwest Colonie, and my neighborhood and those surrounding it specifically. They are now just a street away from my own as they setup shop in their trucks and when they leave there is what looks like some sort of transformer type device hanging down each block's power pole with some wires coiled around it and a few road cones around the base, until they presumably come back at some point to finish. I've tried driving by a few of the trucks hoping to catch one of the workers outside to ask if it is FiOS, but everytime I drive by they are always inside, and I don't want to be creepy and get out and knock on their door to ask.
Anyone hear anything about FiOS expansion? Everything I've read online points to them slowing or stopping their expansion due to the cost of it, but I've read that in generalities, nothing specific to our area.

I was right. Went out today and 1 block over there was a big Verizon FiOS tent set up on the corner with a sales rep to answer questions. It's now available at my house. I'm going to do a bit more research, and then probably pull the trigger soon.

Where in "NW Colonie" do you live? Well without giving my address out over the internet, the tent was setup at the intersection of Albany Street & Lansing Road South.
