Yeah, got the same letter. 10/8 is going to be a fun time what with having to completely rescan my channel lineup on my HDHomeRun Primes. I hope I don't miss too many shows because of it.

Wonder how they automatically bring you the best quality picture? Does it somehow know that you have an HD box and automatically remove the program listings/guides/channels for the SD version of that channel?

Does it somehow know that you have an HD box and automatically remove the program listings/guides/channels for the SD version of that channel? The guide already does this. If I remember correctly, you'd have to select that option. If you were to go to the SD version of WRGB on channel 006, it will automatically display the HD version. Their system already knows the type of box we have, and therefore makes the adjustment automatically.

I wonder if this will affect TiVo season passes. They are based off of show names and channel numbers. For example if Family Guy is no longer on 1808, will it know to record from the new channel? This is going to be fun if I have to re-do my entire season pass manager.

I'm already planning on redoing all my series recordings. I use Windows 7 Media Center and most of my series are associated with a specific channel number; I'd guess it will be the same on TiVo, unless it has some super cool way of just "knowing" what to do when channels change.

Channel change went through this morning for Kinderhook. It wasn't too terrible to readjust my Windows Media Center PCs. Scanned for new channels, guide updated automatically. I just had to modify any series recordings that were targeting a specific channel instead of any channel.
I've survived so far!
Also, note that I still have the ClearQAM channels at this point. Who knows how long that will last.

I don't see this as a Guide option, but it would be nice to be able to only display subscribed HD channels. You can display one or the other, but not both. Maybe in a future update? I know I can wade through all channels and add those individually to the "Favorites". But that's a bit tedious.

I had to re-run the guided setup on the tivo a couple times, and go into advanced options to get it to get the right guide. Finally got the right guide, and then worst case scenario, all of my season passes are still looking on the old channels, so I get to go through the nightmare of re-doing about 80 something season passes. Hooray!

Have they moved all HD channels (including locals) to SDV? I haven't used a tuning adapter since I downgraded to the broadcast basic package a few years ago and have gotten the HD versions of the local affiliates fine on my TiVo. As of this morning, when the channel changes took effect, I'm only getting the SD feeds. Not getting the HDs anymore. I assume that'll change if I get a tuning adapter?

Finally got the right guide, and then worst case scenario, all of my season passes are still looking on the old channels, so I get to go through the nightmare of re-doing about 80 something season passes. Hooray! You can make it slightly (and only slightly) less painful by going to Season Pass manager, selecting a Season Pass, selecting Upcoming showings, pick any upcoming showing, then select Season Pass options -> Add Another Season Pass (or words to that effect). This will copy all settings from the existing Season Pass (# to keep, padding, etc.) and create a new Season Pass for that show on the new channel you specify. Then, go back in and delete the old Season Passes. I did this with about half of my shows today, the other half being shows that aren't currently airing (so there aren't any Upcoming episodes to select), so I'll have to keep an eye on things over the next few months to fill those back in. Hope that helps...questions, let me know.

I pay for road runner and use windows 7 media center to watch the locals (I dropped cable) and after the switch of the lineup I only get 9 channels ClearQAM in Albany. I no longer receive Fox23 or PBS at all. I've rescanned twice and haven't picked up anything else. This really pisses me off.

I went through and completely reset my settings and was able to get the channels back. Phew.
