Time Warner Cable has introduced an upgraded Guide to its hundreds of thousands of its Digital TV customers in Central New York — the first Time Warner Cable customers in the nation to receive the upgrade. Customers automatically received the upgrade in the early morning hours today, and can begin using the new Guide immediately.
The new Guide makes it even easier for customers to find their favorite channels, search Time Warner Cable On Demand movies and shows or use Digital TV features like Start Over and Look Back. The new Guide also features a sleek new design and color scheme.
• The “A” button on the Time Warner Cable remote control brings up “Find Channels,” allowing customers to find their favorite programming by category on hundreds of Digital TV channels more easily.
• The “B” button brings customers to a more intuitive “Search” screen, where they can look for movies or shows on both the TV schedule and among the thousands of Time Warner Cable On Demand choices available anytime.
• Intuitive on-screen prompts for using Digital TV features like Start Over® and Look Back®.
“Our new Guide is designed to help our Digital TV customers enjoy all the programming they receive from Time Warner Cable better,” said Terence Rafferty, Regional Vice President of Operations for the Northeast Region, Time Warner Cable. “This upgraded Guide makes it easy for customers to find the content they want, whether it’s on one of the hundreds of Digital TV channels we offer, or a movie or program available anytime via Time Warner Cable On Demand.
“We’re introducing it in Syracuse first because Central New York has a variety of market characteristics that make it an ideal proving ground for product success. The Syracuse metropolitan area has a demographic composition that largely mirrors the United States as a whole, with a mix of urban, suburban and rural areas.”

This upgrade is the latest step in an ongoing series of enhancements, including: the ability to search all of On Demand; filter the Guide for favorite channels, HD channels or On Demand channels; vivid graphics for searching popular movie choices; multiple fast-forward speeds for DVR playback and Advanced Search for Time Warner Cable Whole House DVR customers.
