Is there a good Web site with info on the FIOS DVR models and features?
Of specific interest is whether their DVR incorporates an over-the-air tuner or if you're limited to the FIOS feed only? I really appreciate my Dish DVR being able to record 2 OTA signals plus 2 sat signals at once as well as recording Universal Sports 45-2 which isn't on the sat or fios feeds.

The user's guide for the Motorola 7232 DVR can be viewed here. The rear of the unit does not have any inputs, besides FiOS TV. So, it does not appear hooking up an antenna is a possibility. Here's an image: On the other hand, if you use a TiVo HD (and cablecard), you would be able to record both OTA and FiOS.

. . . Universal Sports 45-2 which isn't on the sat or fios feeds. According to the SiliconDust Lineup Server for Delmar (12054), Universal Sports is available on FiOS as 45-2, real (RF) channel 73-1618. WCWN-HD, WXXA-HD and Untamed Sports are also on RF 73. I tried zips for Guilderland, Colonie and Scotia but no FiOS listings yet. Also, the Delmar listing is incomplete since it doesn't yet show thumbnails of all the clear channels found (compare with the OTA and TW listings).

I'm getting the FIOS Multi-room DVR installed on Saturday (In Guilderland). So far, has everyone gotten the DVR pictured above? I know that that model is relatively new, and I hope that I receive one because the capacity is comparable to the current TWC Samsung DVR I have (I think 500GB). I don't want to get stuck with an older DVR that only has 160GB in storage...

I don't want to get stuck with an older DVR that only has 160GB in storage... That was the one that I received. The 7232. It has been working flawlessly in the 10 days that I have had it. It does have a 500GB drive and has an ESATA port for additional storage. VZ is testing various drives, the WD DVR Expander drives will be probably be the first ones officially suppported. We are currently on Interactive Media Guide (IMG) 1.8, which is the system software on the DVR and STB. IMG 1.9 is the first version to support external drives. It's scheduled to be released "real soon" now and works best on the 7xxx series. Our market will probably be one of the first ones to get 1.9, since we'll have all new hardware.

Great, thanks for the info Chris. The interface looks nice (much better than TWC), can't wait for installation tomorrow. It would make sense for Verizon to only install the newer models for new customers, but I guess you never know. I talked to customer service to make sure they would be installing the 7232, but they told me they don't offer it to new customers and I'd have to pay a $40 upgrade fee? I hope their customer service is better than what I've experienced so far...

I wouldn't pay any attention to what customer service is telling you. I am a new subscriber to FiOS TV and I got the 7232. I was told that I would be getting the 7216, which is has a much smaller hard drive.
Now, I did order a multiroom DVR with additional 3 STBs, I don't know how that factors in.
Has anyone had installed a DVR other than the 7232?

Chris -- I got the 7232 as well, even tho I had ordered only a regular DVR, not the multi-room version.

Cool, now we just have to wait for the IMG 1.9 rollout. We should get it in a month or two. VZ has the deployment schedule locked and loaded.

Chris -- My installer said that they had ONLY 7232's to install. IIRC, the multi-room feature can be disabled by VZ. I really want 1.9 as well!!
