Looks like Malta, NY wants Verizon Fios

Malta, NY is in Saratoga county, off of exit 12 on the northway, also known where AMD is building there plant. Anyways seems like they really want fios, haha according to there website www.malta-town.org/

"Under federal and state law the Town of Malta is authorized to grants franchises to cable television companies to operate a cable television network within the boundaries of the Town. At the present time the only cable company which has a franchise is Time Warner Cable. The existing franchise agreement Time Warner has with the Town, which spanned a 10 year period, will expire this summer, and Time Warner Cable has begun discussions with a committee set up by the Town to negotiate a new franchise agreement. "

This is right on there homepage, very interesting, seems like an attempt to get Verizon's attention and to say "Hey we can franchise you here in Malta!" I dont blame them, after all there trying to create a tech valley. would be nice to see fios in Saratoga county.

I live right on Saratoga Lake (Exit 12) and am in the area that is conisdered Saratoga Springs because Malta does not have it's own Zip code (even though we are goverened by the town of Malta) I would be one of the first to attend any meeting about it, and to sign up!

Yeah agreed I'm like 4 mins from Malta but live in the town of Ballston. If they had a meeting about Verizon fios I would also attend, one step closer Malta is to fios is one step I'm closer to getting fios over here haha
