This was in the Loudonville spotlight this week.
(I'm trying to find an ONLINE version of this)
I believe it said the TOWN of Colonie (not the village, but the town) will have a hearing regarding FIOS TV on March 24 (or was it the 25th) at 7:00 p.m.
Either that or I'll have to figure out how to scan and post here.

The Town of Colonie's Town Board meets on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays each month. In March 2011, the 2nd Thursday is the 10th and the 4th Thursday is the 24th. Link to Colonie Town Board site

The Town of Colonie ratified the franchise unanimously on the 24th. It is now awaiting PSC approval.

WooHoo! I read the article(s) in the Loudonville Spotlight
Now all I have to do is figure out if they'll let me get a FIOS internet business line, but get a residential TV/phone package.

Is there a map available somewhere that shows where fios is available, kind of how cell carriers show where their service is available? I'd like to see which neighborhoods are already eligible.

You have to go to the FioS website and enter a street address. There's no map that I'm aware of. Availablity depends on whether Verizon has installed fiber optic cabling in your specific neighborhood. If you were able to subscribe to FioS internet when it was made available, you should be able to get FioS TV now.

I came home from work today and had several fios pamphlets in my mailbox so I was so excited. I went and checked the availability on their website and still no dice I don't know why they're sending it to people who can't get the service. I feel like you send it to people to let them know it is now available. Oh well.

I went and checked the availability on their website and still no dice Verizon's on-line databases are not necessarily the most accurate. Your best bet is to call customer service and verify the databases findings. You can also PM me your info and I can take a look to see if there is a FiOS hub in your neighborhood.
