So I called to schedule another cable card install (just so TW can make $20 since I could install it myself) for my other Tivo. I requested a tuning adapter at the same time so I could save myself a trip. I was told that I have to wait to get a letter from them before I can get one. "It's mandated by the FCC" the rep said.
Sigh.

Wasn't it also mandated by the FCC to provide access to these SDV channels well before TWC actually got around to doing so?

I dunno, the reps are so clueless there. The tech shows up to install the cable card and has a meltdown because I don't have the TA. I told him that the rep said I couldn't have a TA until AFTER I had the cable card installed. A second rep confirmed what the first rep said. I got my "letter" today so now I get to drive clear the heck up to Clifton park or Rotterdam to pick up the darn things (like I have a few hours to spare when they're open).
grrrr.
