I just purchased a new home theater system, my first, so I am an a/v receiver newbie. My receiver is a Samsung HW-C700B.
I am a Yankee fan and watch the games on YES. For national broadcast games, I cannot stand to sit there and listen to joe buck and tim mccarver yuck it up and drone on about what seems like everything else besides what is relevant to the game that they're supposed to be covering. I don't care about nascar and basketball, or the next dumb show fox is promoting that's just gonna get canceled after a season. I want to hear about the game I am watching. To solve this I would like to listen to john sterling's radio broadcast through my sound system instead through the fm radio. Since I'm fairly new with this whole receiver thing, does anyone know if this is possible with the one I have?
thanks

If you use your receiver to perform HDMI switching, probably not.
If you have your video go from cable box/dvr to your HDTV, then yes. In this scenario, you would turn on cable box & HDTV and tune the cable box to YES HD. Then, turn on your audio receiver and switch it to FM channel 104.5.
I believe you will find that the audio is a few seconds ahead of the video, especially if you have a DVR.

Yeah it goes through the receiver. TiVo -> HDMI on Receiver -> HDMI on HDTV
I did find an option that let me change audio sources while watching video through HDMI. It let me stay with the HDMI audio, or go through the optical lines, but no option for FM. Anyone have any other ideas?

You could split out the audio via an optical cable:
HDMI: TiVo-->HDTV Optical Audio: TiVo-->Receiver
