ESPN Goal Line in HD - Channel 1540

Wow...that was a nice surprise out of the blue! Time Warner added ESPN Goal Line in HD. Seems similar to the Red Zone channel for NFL....basically it jumps in and out of games that are close/scoring/exciting, etc. Watched it for a few hours today...awesome! No fluff, no garbage...what an ending to the Ole Miss/Jacksonville State game...and in HD!

I'm not a huge college football fan, but this sounds pretty cool. Still, NFL Network is what would push me over the edge into paying for the sports tier.

Time Warner Cable and ESPN have launched the new HD network, ESPN Goal Line, on Saturday, September 4 to Time Warner Cable’s SportsPass customers. All of Time Warner Cable’s customers in Upstate New York and most customers in New England* will have access to ESPN Goal Line.

ESPN Goal Line features unlimited live cut-ins and highlights from numerous top college football games during each Saturday of the college football season, plus up-to-the-minute commentary from ESPN analysts and experts, including ESPNEWS anchor Anish Shroff, who will serve as the primary host, and Rod Gilmore, who will be the main analyst.

Games featured on ESPN Goal Line will include those airing on ESPN’s family of networks, as well as syndicated and locally-produced games from Football Bowl Subdivision conferences, capturing the best live action of the day.

For the 2010 season, the ESPN Goal Line programming will be weekends only, starting Saturdays at Noon ET until games are complete, around 11:30 pm ET. A similar service called Buzzer Beater is planned in time for college basketball season.
