I'm not a computer programmer and easily get overwhelmed when discussions start involving code. I have swapped out the hard drive in one of my TiVo HD units, so I'm not afraid to experiment.
Has anyone been successful with a hack to get programs off your TiVo that have been encrypted with a cci byte of 0x02?
I've read where people have modified the board on their TiVo to ignore the cci byte. I believe there is also a software hack to do this.
If anyone can point me to a step-by-step set of instructions, I may try it.

Well, yeah, um.
I'll post the URL for the deal database for the prom chip mod, as the guy is doing one for the Sept 7th.
After you get your prom'd Tivo back, then the fun begins with "hacking" it per se (you have to add some code or something). That's the part that's apparently the tricky part, although I noticed that userid: dlfl on DealDatabase has done it and he's also on the Tivo Forums, so perhaps he can share some pointers (apparently the original "walkthrough" for how to do it has either some outdated or just plain incorrect steps).
I figure if I can get MythTV setup in about 10 days it shouldn't take me that long to get the code onto the Tivo (haha).
