Cost of getting (just) Time Warner Internet going up August 9, 2010 at 2:31 pm by Larry Rulison, Albany Times Union
Time Warner Cable has sent out letters to its customers that only get its Internet service that the cost is going to be raised by $5 starting Sept. 1.
“It’s the cost of providing the service,” said Time Warner spokesman Michael Bucci. “It goes up.”
However, Time Warner is offering a deal for Internet-only customers to add TV service for a total cost of $56.95, just $2 more than the new Internet-only prices.

They want to make their bundled customers think twice before switching their TV service to satellite. I've been certainly thinking about doing just that.

The cost of Internet service IS going up as people dump cable TV for Internet based options like Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, etc. They need to create infrastructure to support the demand while also offsetting the revenue lost from subs who are dropping their TV service.
