On May 3rd I received a tuning adapter and connected it to my new Tivo Premiere XL following the instructions to the letter.
After powering up both the TA and the Tivo, the TA refused to initialize. On the DVR Diagnostics screen the status of the TA kept cycling between the following messages:
1. Initializing
2. Fatal error no reply
3. Not connected
I tried powering both the TA and Tivo on and off again, re-checked all the connections, and then left both powered up watching the messages cycle for about an hour.
Around 4:10 PM, I decided to call TW support in desperation.
After connected, the computer answering service said that they were overloaded, call back at another time and then hung up the phone.
