I currently own a Tivo S3 and I just ordered a new Tivo Premiere XL. I am really looking forward to the fun of getting TW to provide an m-card, install it correctly and get it correctly paired to the box and my account. When the new box arrives after I move the S3 to a different room, install the XL, and connect both boxes to my local network, should I be able to view all shows already recorded on the S3 via MRV on the XL? I seem to recall something about TW Albany having the copy protection bit code(?) for most channels set so it prevents MRV. If MRV will not work, I will just leave the S3 connected to the current TV until I have watched most of the shows.

The "should" is up for interpretation. In my opinion, you "should" be able to view these shows via MRV on any other TiVo. However, TWC's interpretation is that you shouldn't and since they set the controlling CCI Byte, you will not be able to MRV any programs except those recorded from the OTA stations (NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, etc). There are a few other threads on CCI byte here: TiVo and the CCI ByteCCI Byte to be reversed!!!!!CCI byte rollout update

That's what I was afraid of.
Oh well, at least that means I don't need to disconnect the S3 which has so many cable ties around it that it is almost impossible to access the back panel anyway.
Hopefully TW will have less problems getting the m-card installed and paired in the new box than they did with the 2 s-cards in my S3.
As I recall, the TW man said I was the 2nd customer to order cable cards from the Albany office and it took them over 4 hours to get everything working correctly.
