at a price, IMO news.cnet.com/8301-31001_3-10426792-261.html?tag=newsLeadStoriesArea.1Personally I'm not sure I like having to wait another month to get movies. Plus I don't believe Netflix offers ANY HD streaming, let along Dolby Digital via their streams. May end up having to use BlockBuster to get my movies from now on. Still waiting for Terminal Salvation to come in (very long wait, and it's been like what, 4 weeks already?)

I think that Netflix uses a variable bitrate and will scale it and and down based on the bandwidth. I rented Terminator Salvation through Amazon Video On Demand to my TiVo and it was better than DVD, but less than Blu-ray. It was 1080i with a bit arte of 2800 kbps, but stereo only. I haven't tried Blockbuster yet. Do they follow the Amazon model or the Netflix model?

Blockbuster for DVD rentals, follows Netflix model, but they DON'T charge extra for Blu-Ray whereas Netflix does.
I haven't done a Blockbuster on-demand to my Tivo because they have no HD content that I was interested in (I think the list was less than 15). (what's the point of having a TivoHD and a widescreen TV with surround sound when you are stuck at "sd" resolution with stereo)? I watch all my DVD on my 55" widescreen in my theater room with upconverted DVD or Blu-Ray on my PS3.
So I'm kinda picky.
