Got a lovely letter stating that my wonderful FIOS service will increase to $49.99/month and that I have to do nothing to keep the same great service.
yeah, right.
Switching back to RR before then.
I'm amazed that with the economy, they have no interest whatsoever in price matching or any sort of concept of customer retention. I guess Verizon FIOS business must be booming.

You might be able to get a deal if you call and say you want to cancel. I did that to Time Warner today and they slashed 50 dollars a month off my Dig cable w/ dvr and RR bill for a year.

This should be a lesson for all the people who want to switch to FIOS as if Verizon isn't just as bad as TW in price-hikes. They are all the same.
I even had to fight to keep my Verizion DSL at $29/mo. after the introductory price--they wanted to go to $39. At that point why wouldn't get real service from TW? They're all nuts.

I called and they said they do not price match and that if I wanted to cancel that was fine with them.

Ah, doesn't that make you feel like a valued customer, Hurnik!
Adam - they're cutting $50 a month? Sweet. I'll start making a list of companies I want you to speak to on my behalf. . . Of course, now you've got a pretty good idea of their profit margin.
