Time Warner Cable has hit 100 100 high definition channels, that is.Among the long list of new HD channels added by TWC in the last two weeks are MSNBC HD, Headline News HD, E! HD, TCM HD, MSG Plus HD and several HBO and Showtime channels in HD. The local cable provider said today in a release that it was able to more than triple its offering of high definition channels in the last year by investing in new infrastructure and improved technology at a time when there is increased HD programming available. The increased number of HD channels includes several new offerings on Channel 802 and above. The HD channels previously had been on Channel 700 and above. TWC said that 56 of the channels are on its free HD tier. TWC also has added seven channels on its Start Over feature, which is free to digital cable subscribers. The service allows viewers to start at the beginning of programs already in progress when they tune it late. The seven new Start Over channels include WGRZ, WGRZ HD, HGTV HD, TBS HD, A&E HD, History HD, and USA HD.
