Netflix to Offer Wizard of Oz in HD For Free

(September 9, 2009) -- Netflix next month will offer a free High-Definition viewing of The Wizard of Oz on its movie streaming service to celebrate the film's 70th anniversary.
The free viewings will be offered for a 24-hour period starting at 9 a.m. ET on October 3.
Netflix's streaming service is available at the company's web site, select Blu-ray players and other TV devices. The service includes roughly 12,000 films that can be watched immediately, including some in high-def.
The Wizard of Oz, which stars Judy Garland, is considered one of the greatest films of all time.
