Yesterday afternoon when I arrived home, the TiVoHD in my Family Room displayed the "Tuning Adapter Now Connected" message. All the channels were still OK, so I didn't think anything of it.
Later that night, when we attempted to use the other TiVoHD in the bedroom, no channels would disply. Blank, black screen on all channels. I had to restart the TiVo and all the channels came back.
Did TWC send some sort of software update to the Tuning Adapters?

I was away last week and my TA stopping working at precisely 9:04pm on Friday 10/16 (it cutout while the Tivo was recording a show). I lost most (but not all) of the SDV channels.
I called TWC this morning and they couldn't see anything wrong. I'm not convinced that the tech knew what he was doing. I rebooted the TA and when it came back, all was a good again. I have a truck roll scheduled for this morning do they can check everything one more time.

The tech came out on Monday and saw that signal was off from where it was supposed to be. The signal coming into the house is off. It's too strong at channel 2 and too weak in the SDV frequncies. They put in cable amp years ago and that was boosting the noise, which didn't help things.
He was able to clean up the signal a bit by taking the cable amo out, but he had to put in a service request to their maintenance department to fix the outside signal.
Sometime between last night and this morning, the tuning adapter stopped working again. I had to reboot the TA to get the channels back. This is getting old.
I called TWC back and they could not tell when or even if the maintenance order has been scheduled. The support guy, "Mike", told me to reboot everything to get the TA back online. I tried explaining that you only need to unplug and then plug the TA back to get it back online. I mentioned that you didn't to do that, but he insisted that I needed to. While he was saying this, the TA came back online through the Tivo again. He told me that my case was different and everyone else needed to reboot.
At this point, I should know better when I talk to these people so I dropped it. He gave me a care reference number and promised that some one would call when the maintenance order was put through.
Meanwhile I have a Tuning Adapter that can't stay online for even week. No point getting worried about the status of the CCI flag when you can't even record a show.

Well, since TW hasn't moved on their CCI Byte in the last two weeks, I guess I don't mind posting Gary's # now (he's the person who originally called me in regards to my email to them about the TA and SDV pixelation/reboot issues and said everything's fixed now).
Gary (don't know his last name) - 242-8816
I'm getting the SDV pixellation and dropouts again (only on SDV channels) regardless of whether they're HD or not.
Perhaps if/when DTV comes out with their new TivoHD I may take a look (will depend on if MRV and TTG are in there or not). although I don't expect anything to be released until 2010 sometime.

The tiling tonight on BBCA HD is pretty bad. It comes and goes, but when it's around, the show is unwatchable.

Yes, BBCA along with BravoHD are horrendous.

After having the maintenance job, most of the tiling is gone. I haven't done a full check of the channels, but SyFy HD is much better now.

Mine comes and goes. I've basically given up at this point and will just suffer until either DTV comes out with their Tivo unit (assuming it'll be MRV/TTG but that won't be until "sometime" in 2010) or Verizon FIOS comes out.
Every time I call, they want the reboot, or come out and they say it's the signal, and then it's too strong, or too weak. I don't think they really know what they're doing or care anymore at this point.

I'm getting the impression that TWC Albany is limited by their equipment and the quality of the signal coming into them.
With 8 to 10 additional HD channels coming in the next month, I think the signal quality will get worse. It feels like the megapixel war in the camera world. Each new generation had a higher pixel count, but the sensor size stayed the same. The end result was noisier pictures. The same thing is happening here.

I have two TiVo HD's, each with a tuning adapter.
One of the TA's lost it's ability to display SDV channels, but not the other. Had to powerdown & then power up the TA and then the SDV channels came back.

Spoke too soon. This morning I needed to reboot the TA on the 2nd TiVo HD.
