Time Warner Cable's Albany Division is excited to upgrade its Premium HD Tier with three new high-quality networks with distinct HD programming.

Smithsonian Channel HD, channel 1855:
Smithsonian Channel HD features original programming for the whole family. It celebrates the American experience with documentaries, short-subject explorations and innovative, groundbreaking programs highlighting America’s historical, cultural, educational and scientific heritage.


RFD-TV, channel 1857:
RFD-TV is dedicated to serving the needs and interests of rural America and agriculture. RFD also simulcasts the popular “Imus in the Morning” radio program.


MavTV, channel 1858:
MavTV is a network aimed at men with a variety of original programming that includes series like: “AMA Motorcycle Racing”, “American Tailgater”, “Rad Girls”, “Ultimate Combat Experience”, “The Single Life with Sam Phillips” and “Lucas Oil Motorsports Events." They added 3 to the HD Tier? Yesterday, the HD Tier had 4 channels, they dropped 2, with 3 new channels. There are now 5 channels in the HD Tier. By my math, the net result is 1 additional channel, not 3. But I guess if you ignore the dropping of the HDNets, as they did, the math works out to 3.

I didn't care much for 1857, but 1858 was a great and up there on my list of most watched. These new HD channels they've added are utter garbage.

There's no mention of the dropped 2 HD Tier channels in TWC's email. Are the going to tell anyone that the HDNets are gone? We know because we follow this forum, but John Q. Public is not going to know.
