From the Philadelphia InquirerComcast may drop NFL. Comcast recently informed its subscribers that it may be forced to drop the NFL Network from its programming May 1. Comcast said it has offered to continue to provide NFL Network to customers under the existing agreement, but the NFL has refused. The agreement ends April 30. The NFL Network wants Comcast to offer the network without extra charges, as part of the basic cable agreement. The network said Comcast won't agree to such a change. "Comcast refuses to sit down and reach an agreement with NFL Network on a contract extension that would make the network more widely available to a larger number of subscribers on its cable systems without the extra monthly fee that Comcast now sets and collects," the NFL Network said.

The NFL seriously needs to take a step back and realize that no one wants to pay them what they want for their channel. If Comcast drops them, no cable providers will carry the network (IIRC).
