I have a season pass for Yankees Magazine, where it is only supposed to record new episodes. My problem is it records all airings, I'd say probably 20-30 a week. The info on each episode is always the same, which is why the tivo probably doesn't know which one is a brand new airing and stop at that. I end up having to open and watch the first 5-10 seconds until I find the new one. Is there a way to trick the tivo into only recording the new episode once?

I don't have a Tivo but maybe you could go onto the YES website and see when that show airs new shows and then just set it to record that specific time. It's a low tech solution but it might help.

Yeah, I have the same thing happen with other shows (set it to record first runs only and you get all of them). There is currently no official fix. You can set a manual recording (like adam suggested). Or periodically go into the "to do" list and delete the extra recordings. or you can set it to keep at most one episode (but of course, you have to make sure watch it that night, or it'll get deleted the next day).

that recording the time is a pretty good idea and probably the only solution.. anyone have any idea when the new episode of yankees magazine comes on? I looked for a few minutes but couldn't find it

so it looks like it might be wednesdays at 11:30am. I had 7 or 8 of them recorded and that was the first new episode I saw.. that just seems like such a weird time to have the first airing of a show
