There seems to be an issue with some of Sony's digital cable ready TV's when using a cablecard. An error 161-6 may appear which results in not being able to tune subscription based services. This requires service by an authorized Sony repair person per their website. I also made a call to their technical service department today by calling 1-800-222-7669. Their service department would give me no specific explanation for the error other than that it is a known issue which requires servicing the set. They offered to setup for a service appointment.
"Q Knowledge Base Article C358989 Error: 161-6 SOLUTION: Service will be required to resolve this issue."
Has anyone else received this same error? If you had your set fixed, what was actually done during Sony's service call? My model: KDF55WF655 build date Dec 2004
