Avical HDTV Calibration Tour - March 21-25, 2005

Eliab will be in Albany March 21- 25, 2005 and I will be coordinating his appointment schedule.

Please contact me via email or PM to schedule an appointment. Your $50 deposit will hold your spot.

There will be at least two appointments per day. The first will start between 8-9AM and the second will start between noon-2PM. The length of time for each calibration determines the starting times.

I'll post more information soon. Check the Avical website for pricing and descriptions of what is included in the calibration for your type of HDTV.

NOTE: There will be travel expenses of between $50-$75 added per calibration.

Hello all,

I would first like to thank owner/administrator Mark Pyskadio (Skaggs) for being kind enough in taking time out of his already busy schedule to coordinate an Avical/ISF calibration tour for the members of this awesome forum!

As he stated, there will be two calibrations performed each day and possibly a third depending on the types of displays, complexity of the jobs, and the location of the tour participants. CRT/RPTV sets generally require about 4 hours work to arrive at a correct image whereas digital displays such as DLP, LCD, Plasma, and CRT/DVTV, etc. take about 2 hours or so.

Concerning CRT/RPTVs, each display will be approached very openly. We’ll start by previewing material that we’re both familiar with (generally on DVD) at which point I’ll address areas that I think can be improved upon (as I’m sure you’ll probably do as well). We’ll then support our findings with various test patterns and testing equipment, document our readings, and then create a package that’s right for your particular display and budget.

All interested parties are required to send a $50.00 non-refundable deposit via www.Paypal.com to [e-mail] to secure a slot on the tour and indicate that the deposit is for the "Avical - Albany tour 03/21-25." Along with the deposit, please include your complete address, telephone number(s), and associated video gear. The deposit will be credited towards your calibration. In the event that an unforeseeable circumstance prevents you from participating in the tour, a refund will be given providing that your slot can be filled. If not, a credit towards a future tour will be given.

Eliab was able to visit me yesterday.

First of all, if you haven't had an ISF calibration done, I highly recommend it. I only wish I'd had mine done sooner.

Eliab is GREAT. Arrived on time, VERY courteous and friendly.

I am very pleased with the results and it's night/day with the finished product.
