Look for the syndicated programs Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy to be shown in HD soon on WTEN.
WTEN is the local ABC affiliate and the HD versions of the channel can be found on TWC channel 1810 or over the air on 10-1.
WTEN Chief Engineer Skeeter Lansing sent me an email this morning and stated:

Hey Skaggs, any chance you could get an update the status of this, as it is mid march now and still no Jeopardy in HD? I was also curious if you had heard anything about the other Albany stations being able to do HD syndication as both Two and Half Men and Everybody Loves Raymond are syndicated in HD.

More than three months after the "end of February" time frame, I see Jeopardy! is finally in HD on WTEN. I don't watch Wheel, but I assume that is HD as well now. Obviously HD doesn't make a huge difference for the show but the picture is noticably clearer. And it's always good to knock another SD show off the watch list (especially one that had been available in HD for a while). Thanks to Skeeter and the rest of the tech people at TEN for getting it up and running.
Oddly, they're using open captioning (closed captioning that is part of the broadcast so you can't turn it off/on from your TV). Most of the captions are in the left side of the 16:9 frame so you just see the back end of the captions (the part in the 4:3 portion of the frame) on the SD channel. Because of the positioning, I assume the open captions are an error and shouldn't be there. I wonder if it's coming from Sony or the station.
