Whenever NG-HD goes into or comes out of commercial, I get like 5-6 beeps. Is anyone else getting this? It's fairly annoying. I've tried rebooting my cable box, but obviously that didn't help (just a shot in the dark).
It's only this channel too...

These tones are codes to signal automation equipment, usually for local ad insertions at cable headends. They were much more common in the '70s and '80s in the program audio stream, but now inaudible means are mostly used (additional audio channels, in the picture's vertical interval or serial data encoded in a digital satellite's mpeg stream, etc) Don't know why this channel still does this.

Yeah I get that too, sounds like a phone dialing kinda. Not sure if there is much you can do about it.

Word on the streets is that the sound issue has been fixed on NG-HD. I just tried pausing and had sound when I started back up again, which never happened before. I also don't get the beeping anymore when the channel goes into or comes out of commercial
