The CW Network says 78 percent of its primetime lineup will be in High-Definition by January 2008.
The network's new season will begin this fall, but its HD lineup will be complete when Friday Night Smackdown, the wrestling program, goes high-def in January.
The 2007-2008 lineup will include the return of Everybody Hates Chris from comedian Chris Rock who will appear in front of the camera for the first time this season as a school counselor. The comedy is broadcast in HD.
The new high-def shows include Gossip Girl, which focuses on an anonymous blogger, and Aliens in America. a comedy about a Wisconsin family who takes in a 16-year-old Muslim in an exchange program.
The CW network has struggled in the ratings since its launch in 2006 after the consolidation of networks UPN and the WB. But the 2007-2008 lineup has received strong early buzz from TV critics.
