Universal HD to Air 'Live Earth' Concert In HD

By Phillip Swann, tvpredictions.com Universal HD will show 22 consecutive hours of "Live Earth" live and in High-Definition on Saturday, July 7.
The musical event, which will include 150 different performers in concerts from seven different continents, is being held to build awareness of global warming.
Universal HD's high-def coverage will begin at 4 a.m. on July 7 and extend until 2 a.m. the next day.
The list of performers include The Beastie Boys, Ludacris, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi, Madonna, The Police, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Melissa Etheridge, Dave Matthews Band, The Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Duran Duran, Akon, AFI, Paolo Nutini, KT Tunstall and Genesis.
The concerts will take place at nine different venues and NBC owned networks such as Bravo, CNBC, Telemundo and NBC itself will also provide occasional coverage in standard definition.
