HDTV Show Review
OnHD.TV's 6 Films You Must See in HDTV
These movies will soon be playing on a Home Theater near you.

Washington, D.C. (March 28) -- Everyone knows that High-Definition TV is a great way to watch sports, live events and primetime TV shows. However, you may not know that many theatrical films look even better in high-def than they did in the theater.
With that in mind, OnHD.TV offers six films you must see in HDTV; and all six are playing this week on a high-def channel near you. All times listed are Eastern.
Taking Lives
Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke
From the artsy opening sequence to the action-packed chase scenes, Taking Lives will take your breath away. Set in historic Montreal, Angelina Jolie plays a police profiler who's summoned to investigate a serial murderer; along the way, she falls in love with possible victim Hawke -- and the camera falls in love with her. Despite that Mt. Everest-size mole over her right eyebrow, the actress is truly one of the most beautiful women in the world -- and no high-def owner would disagree.
HBO, April 3, 10 p.m.
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life
Angelina Jolie, Gerard Butler
And speaking of Ms. Jolie, she raids both tombs and hearts in this sequel to the film based on the video game character. The first five minutes, in which Lara and her crew battle evil-doers somewhere along a shimmering Mediterranean Sea, is gorgeous and a great showcase for the beauty of HDTV. Don't miss it. Later scenes put Lara at risk in locales across the globe, all equally eye-popping.
Showtime, March 30, 8 p.m.
The Italian Job
Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron
Walhberg heads a band of jewel thieves in Switzerland who are cheated out of their loot by a cold-hearted Edward Norton. After recruiting safe-cracker Theron, the crew tracks down Norton in Los Angeles. The premise -- and execution of the stunts -- often defies logic, but you could get diabetes from tasting the eye-candy. Whether it's the glistening Theron, the beefy male crew, led by Marky Mark, the panoramic views of the Alps and the City of Angels or those cool Mini-Coopers, The Italian Job is molti bueno for high-def owners.
Showtime, March 30, 6:05 p.m.
Looney Tunes Back in Action
Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck
Brendan Fraser jumps in to help Bugs find Daffy after the latter loses his job and heads for Vegas. Sounds goofy, of course, but that's the point. It's great fun and the animation sparkles in high-def. The cartoon characters are so vivid and crisp that they look like they were drawn right on your TV screen.
HBO, March 29, 4 p.m.
Charlie Angels: Full Throttle
Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu
Unless you've been sleeping under a rock, you've heard by now that HDTV and Cameron Diaz go together like oil and water, or Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards. The actress' acne-plagued face is in full bloom in this Angels sequel. However, the movie, which also stars the HD-friendly Lucy Liu, is filled with action sequences that dazzle the eye in high-def. Well worth your time.
HBO, April 3, 7 p.m.
Pulp Fiction
Bruce Willis, John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson
If you watched the Quentin Tarantino film in the theater or on a non-HDTV channel, watch it again. In widescreen high-def, the film looks as fresh and vivid as it did when it was first released in 1994. In HDTV, you get a greater appreciation of Tarantino's use of color and staging. It's a big feast for the eye. No, make that a 'La Big Feast for the Eye.'
Starz, March 30, 12:35 a.m.
