By Phillip Swann, tvpredictions.com Having trouble finding some of your High-Definition channels this morning?
Four high-def channels -- A&E HD, History Channel HD, NFL Network HD and YES Network HD -- have been knocked off the air on many TV systems.
No, DIRECTV didn't remove them to create more room for its NFL Sunday Ticket lineup. The Stamford Advocate reports that there was a three-alarm roof fire yesterday morning at the building in Stamford, Connecticut where the four HD signals originate.
The newspaper writes that the fire forced the building to be evacuated yesterday. It's unclear when employees will be allowed to return -- and when power will be turned back on to allow transmission of the four HD channels.(A&E HD and NFL Network HD were still out on Comcast's cable system in the Washington, D.C. area as of 6 a.m. ET this morning.)
A Stamford fire official, though, said the building's main office was not damaged although smoke spread throughout much of the building. More than 45 fire fighters were called to the scene.
