Well I gave up waiting for Time Warner and I sprang for a set top box (preliminarily anway)...I got a Motorola HFtd 100 and here's my issue,,,I really want to avoid an outdoor antenna so I sprang for a TERK Antenna Pro...a new table top (TV top) indoor antenna...well my signal strength is dreadful...I really thought I'd get better reception since I live in colonie village and I'm only 11 mi from the main transmitter...my question is..shoud I go for the more expensive terk 55 antenna??? I really don't want to put something outside and there must be something sufficiently powerful to pull a signal...right now 13-1 and 2 register at 20% with ridiculous hues...Jerry Orbach looks live Marvin the Martian...any input from anyone would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

You could try a silver sensor antenna I am in Ballston Spa and I get all the stations that are currently broadcasting ota . The skilver sensor is a very highly regarded indoor antenna .

Do you get 13 OTA with the Silver Sensor??? My understanding of the Silver Sensor is that its a UHF only antenna and 13 is broadcasting VHF...I figured out my hue problems (dumbo me I had the component connections hooked up wrong...) at any rate I'm now getting a good reliable picture for WMHT and WNYT...for some reason however WRGB is very weak and pixellated...signal goes away when you move around in the room..kinda reminds me of classic rabbit ear issues in a college dorm room...makes no sense that WRGB would be that weak since 13 and 17 are broadcasting from the same place..and I'm only 11 miles from the transmitter...

Yeah I get 13 just fine with the silver sensor . I tried an expensive powered antenna and this one truly blows it away . Sometimes I have to adjust the antenna a bit to get all of the stations clearly without breakup etc but there is one sweet spot in my house where they all come in awesome.

Well problem is solved....thanks for the advice....I went to the web and found this really great review of indoor reception: www.hdtvexpert.com/Pages/squareshot.htmwhile this guy did his review in PA it said the Radio Shack 15-1880 (with an amp built in) was a very good antenna and it seemed to pull in alot based on his test...I just went to the Shack to pick one up and "SHAZAMM" I get everything "4X4"!!!!!! based on my experience I can't recommend the TERK HDTVi model for folks here in the immediate Albany NY (the TERK's kinda ugly too)....I;m gonna return the TERK to CC...the Shack model looks a lot better and it stable enough to be on top of my TV...(not the case with the TERK...too topheavy....).... my girlfriend hasn't seen the Shack 'tenna yet...so it hasn't passed the "important aesthetics" test completely yet...but women just don't get this stuff anyway... Thanks for all the advice!!! No worries about the Olympics or the NFL now!!!
