DishNetwork is getting ready to release the remaining original VOOM 21 channels. This will make DishNetwork the leader, as intended, in HD offering. Also upcoming upgrade Turbo 8PSK which is a software upgrade to units that are already 8PSK. This upgrade is a 30% bandwidth reduction, and will most likely push MPEG4 conversion further into the future. This addition of channels is being offered at no subscription increase for at least a year according to previous statements by DishNetwork. Thus 26 basic program HD channels is still available for $19.95 monthly.

Based on the below mentioned past article, I suspect the new voom channels will be based on the new MPEG 4 boxes. Did Dish send you information that the rest of the Voom 21 channels will be available for non MPEG4 boxes using the Turbo 8PSK upgrade? or did you hear this in the Dish Tech talk show? Note: Dish tech talk has been knowned for alot of vaporware... see paragraph 7.. albanyhdtv.proboards18.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1130146985&page=1
