Actually WTEN was ready to broadcast by Jan 1, 2004.
Our license is being held by the FCC pending Canadian approval. What you heard is correct we have been held up by the Canadian FCC for over 2 years. I have two attorneys and our FCC engineering company working to resolve the issue. Two bureaus within the Washington FCC need to talk, the International and Media. Our lawyers have had conversations with one of the bureau chiefs and we were told "to be patient." An excellent example of goverment in action.
The FCC and Canada had a meeting last week concerning “International Issues” I can only hope WTEN was one of the topics.

Welcome to the forum Skeeter! I imagine you've been lurking for a while, but I applaud your decision to post and face the (often confrontational) public.
Other local Chief Engineers are monitoring AlbanyHDTV.com as well as my local DTV thread over on avsforums.com (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=232530&perpage=20&pagenumber=60) and have communicated with me regularly in confidence. I think you'll find the opinions, questions and frustrations of the general public highly valuable, although often nonsensical and under-informed.
Thank you for being a part of our community, perhaps WTEN/WCDC will be be looked at more favorably with your involvement in these forums.
While we got you here... can you tell us of any plans to multicast the ABC News Now feed? Would your current agreement with TWC allow for a 24-hour news subchannel on their system, or would it have to be an OTA only thing?

I was on vacation last week when TWC placed the ABC NewsOne Now feed on the cable. The technical work was done the week before, on both TWC and WTEN's end. In my last communications with TWC we were going to be placed in the 1900's as chanel location. I haven't had a chance to confirm placement.
