This Wednesday (5/24/07) I lost the OTA feed on 6-1, 6-2 and 6-2.
I first noticed this around 1:50PM, but it could have started earlier since I was watching another channel earlier.
Around 2:10PM, 6-1 started coming in again, but as of 2:16PM 6-2 and 6-3 were still blank.
Did anyone else notice this?

Today, Wednesday 5/23/07 at 4:40PM, I picked up both 6-1 and 6-3.
WRGB stopped broadcasting on 6-2 about a week ago.
Reportedly, they are transmitting 6-3, but have a "hidden" flag in the PSIP so those attempting a new channel scan can not pick it up. Those who already have their OTA tuner programmed to receive 6-3 still can receive the channel.

That explains why I can't receive 6-3 anymore, since I had to re-run a channel on both of my Tivos.
But there was a problem with 6-1. I received the following response from Fred Lass at WRGB:
"Hi Bruce; When I responded yesterday I was at the transmitter site. Since then I learned that our PSIP generator had hung up. All it needed was a reboot. It seems to need such TLC every couple of months. The same equipment on WCWN has been flawless. The only difference is WCWN is running XP, WRGB is not. So, blame it on Bill Gates.
This instance has suggested that we update the operating system in the WRGB PSIP Generator.
Fred"

Any idea when the PSIP generator will be fixed. When I do a system test I get 94% on 6.3 and also (still) 6.2 which moved on to somewhere else.? Come on you guys at WRGB spend a little money and get the problem fixed. I really miss the Doppler Radar. It's the best! Joe

Joe There is no problem. 6.3 is available on TWC 1896, but is hidden OTA until the issue of securing kids programming to fulfill FCC requirements is resolved. The agreement with WNYA which was on 6.2 was terminated earlier this year and there is no 6.2 service at this time.
