NBA TV Heads to HD
By Matt Stump 2/24/2005 4:58:00 PM
NBA TV will originate an HDTV feed this fall with the help of Turner Broadcasting System Inc.
The National Basketball Association’s cable service will originate its domestic and international channel and commercial integration operations from Turner's Atlanta headquarters.
Turner owns 11% of NBA TV and also carries the league’s games on Turner Network Television.
“This deal allows us to advance our equity stake in NBA TV, as well as to further our outstanding long-term partnership with the NBA," Turner executive vice president of operations and strategy Jim McCaffrey said in a prepared statement.
The NBA will still maintain its studio facilities in Secaucus, N.J.
