Does anyone know what the outlook is for UPN broadcasting digitally in Albany in the foreseeable future? I already came upon a post that explained their difficulties (i.e. only one frequency assignment for both analog and digital broadcast). Was wondering if anyone has an update (I really would like to watch Enterprise in HD).
As a side note, I'd just like to say how excited I am about this site. I've been a pretty serious home theater nut since moving to the area about three years ago to take on my first "real" job... it's nice to know that by no means am I alone. I only wish I had discovered you folks a heck of a lot sooner. Anyways, thanks!

WXXA (FOX) was originally assigned rf4 for Digital OTA. They applied to the FCC to move to rf7. The FCC granted them the change, but it was then challenged by affiliates with analog signals on rf7 in NYC and Watertown. Those challenges will likely fail, but until a final ruling is made all things are on hold. WNYA (Our local UPN Affiliate) has applied to the FCC for rf4, but again, until rf4 is officially vacant they cannot consider moving WNYA's digital from rf51 to rf4.
